Video 6 Drivers
---------------
Version 2.0
What is Video 6?
----------------
Video 6 is a set of drivers which make Workbench run in Ham6 (hence the name Video 6), or Ham8.
What this means to novice users is that you can have either 4096 or 262144 colors in a variety of
resolutions.
How can this be useful?
-----------------------
The one thing that limits Workbench is the lack of colors. This has plauged the Amiga since day one.
Since AGA has become available, a wider variety of colors and mode appeared, and the possibility of
Hires Ham screens came true. Have you dreamed of running a web browser in many colors? The only
thing that limits you now is the Image Datatypes. The JFIF Datatype (on aminet) will do ham or ham8.
Icons can now be Ham, and a Rexx macro is included to produce Ham6 Icons in ImageFX.
What's new in this version?
---------------------------
Well, some new monitors have been added. I live in Canada, a land of Microsoft and Bill Gates.
It is VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE to find Amiga Compatible hardware in Ontario. That's why I feel your
pain. I have suffered the woes of Pal and Canadian NTSC TV sets and have produced a set that
you can use. I have a high respect for european standards of technology (far higher than canadian).
Included here are drivers for:
NTSC 60Hz
PAL 50Hz
Double NTSC
Double PAL
Euro 36Hz
Euro 72Hz
Productivity (VGA)
Productivity Laced (VGA)
Luckily, I have agquired a CBM-1802 Composite Monitor, which can display PAL (although in Black and
White). Most modes have been tested.
